I always wanted to know more about Maurice Nicoll, He wrote this book under the pseudonym, Martin Swayne. I gives some insight as to his feelings and his reactions to his earlier military/medical experiences. ("A slice of life" of the zeitgeist of that era and location.) I give it 5 stars because of my acute interest in Maurice Nicoll.
