AZ-RELEP’s national key point reviews are a succinct compression of tested national principles and practices that comprise the national portion of state license exams from coast to coast. Our content is drawn from our own national textbook, Principles of Real Estate Practice – one of the most widely used principles textbooks in the country. Finally, our national content, as well as our question selection, is further tailored to the state testing outline promulgated by Pearson Vue for Arizona. Thus the breadth and depth of the law reviews and test questions reflect the topic emphasis of your state’s testing service and your Arizona license exam.

A word about the test questions… AZ-RELEP’s testing practice section consists of ten national practice tests, three state practice tests, and one state exam sample test. The practice tests are roughly 50 questions in length and the sample test is 125 questions. The test questions are designed to cover the content covered by the law reviews – which reinforces your learning of the total body of information tested by your state exam. The questions are direct, to the point, and designed to test your understanding. When you have completed a given test, you can check your answers against the answer key in the appendix. You may also note that each question’s answer is accompanied by a brief explanation, or “rationale” to further reinforce your understanding.

In the end, as you know, it’s all up to you. Unlike other publications, we are not going to tell you that using this book will guarantee that you pass your state exam. It still takes hard work and study to pass. But we have done our best here to get you ready. About the Author

For over forty years, Stephen Mettling and David Cusic, PhD, have operated Performance Programs Company, one of the nation's most successful custom training organizations specializing in real estate program development. Mr. Mettling and Dr. Cusic have jointly written over 100 books, courses, and custom programs in all facets of real estate for some of the country’s largest organizations including the National Association of Realtors� and its many Institutes.

Mr. Mettling has also served as vice president and author for the country’s largest real estate training and publishing organization. Under various capacities, he has managed the acquisition, development, and sale of national real estate textbooks and publications, as well as directed the country's largest affiliated group of real estate schools.

Dr. Cusic, an author and educator with international real estate training experience, has been engaged in vocation-oriented education since 1966. Specializing in real estate training since 1983, he has developed numerous real estate training programs for corporate and institutional clients around the country.

Ryan Mettling, partner and currently publisher of Performance Programs, is an accomplished online curriculum designer, author and course developer. Mr. Mettling graduated Valedictorian from the University of Central Florida’s College of Business Administration.

Kurt Wildermuth is an Arizona Department of Real Estate Certified School Administrator, Certified Instructor, and Associate Broker. He is the owner and director of the Arizona Mountain School of Real Estate in Flagstaff, and has been teaching real estate salesperson and broker pre-licensing courses as well as continuing education classes since 2005.

In addition to his real estate education expertise, Kurt has taught marketing and communication courses on the university level for more than 25 years. His business experience includes serving as a former vice president of an internationally affiliated public relations counseling firm. As a member of the Real Estate Educator’s Association, Kurt has conducted numerous workshops and seminars in various real estate education subjects, including curriculum development.

Really complete book. It did discuss the majority of the questions I encountered on the State exam. A vast amount of information that I did not come across in class or in any exam is also covered - which is actually a bonus because different schools teach different material and you get to learn more. Easy format with plenty of tests and test answers in the back of the book. Plenty of room for additional notes and cross-referencing. Bought one for a friend, too.

About the Author

Robert W. Weinbach, Ph.D., MSW, ACSW is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of South Carolina, where he continues to teach graduate level research courses in the College of Social Work. He is also a co-author of Research Methods for Social Workers, seventh Edition; The Social Worker as Manager, Sixth Edition; and is the author of Evaluating Social Work Services and Programs, (all published by Allyn & Bacon), as well as over 75 other publications and invited book chapters. He earned graduate degrees in social work from SUNY-Buffalo and Ohio State University and has worked in both medical and psychiatric social work practice and as a program evaluator.

Richard M. Grinnell, Jr. is a Professor of Social Work and holds the Clair and Clarice Platt Jones/Helen Frays Endowed Chair of Social Work Research in the School of Social Work at Western Michigan University. He received his Ph.D. in social work from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and for over the past 40 years has held academic and senior university administrative appointments in Australia, Canada, and the United States. He has published over 100 journal articles, book chapters, and conference presentations, and 36 books. His two latest books are Evaluation for Social Workers: Foundations of Evidence–Based Programs, 6th edition (Oxford University Press, 2012, with Peter Gabor and Yvonne Unrau) and Social Work Research and Evaluation: Foundations of Evidence-Based Practice, 10th edition (Oxford University Press, 2014, with Yvonne Unrau).

Jim Schild is the publisher of The Auto Review and is the author of several books in the Collector’s Originality Guide series, including Challenger and Barracuda 1970–1974, Chevrolet Camaro 1970–1981, and Ford Model A. He has also written two acclaimed histories of Chrysler’s racing efforts, Proving Ground: A History of Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler Racing, and Maximum Performance: Mopar Super Stock Drag Racing 1962–1969. Schild lives in Columbia, Illinois, and is a member of 15 local and national collector car organizations, including the Society of Automotive Historians.

Well worth getting this book

Jim Shild's book has a lot of details and photographs which illustrate the details to look for in restoring or to investigate a Challenger/Barracuda for the purposes of buying.

Great details in year-by-year options, colors and equipment in the respective models and trim combinations. If you can find this book - get it, definitely a good reference to have.

Parenting Guide for Functional Families

If you're seeking quick and easy ways to change your children's behavior, or get them to do what you say, this book is not for you. Becoming a conscious parent requires looking deeply and honestly within oneself, delving into one's own fears and shortcomings.

The Conscious Parent invites parents to become more mindful of their daily interactions with their children so that rather than seeing children's actions as "misbehavior," parents can recognize an opportunity to be kinder and more open themselves. The central premise of The Conscious Parent is that children provide parents with mirrors of their own subconscious issues, and parents who understand this can enter into a state of heart-to-heart communion with their children, learning and growing alongside their children, rather than continuing habitual reactive patterns that tend to perpetuate family cycles of power, control and dominance. As author Shefali Tsabary points out, this shift from an egoic state of mind to one of authentic being "... isn't an easy one for a parent to make."

While much of the Conscious Parent contains the kinds of tips and pointers Tsabary provides for her clients, this book really shines when Tsabary shares her first-hand experiences as a mother. The Conscious Parent is highly recommended for readers dedicated to living their lives mindfully who are eager to have functional, rather than dysfunctional families. The most different parenting book I have ever read

Most parenting books are very ho-hum for me and they seem to be mostly about quick fixes for the children as though they are mini broken machinery rather than human beings. They also seem to just deepen many of the power struggles between parent and child and target the child's behavior. The more you create an obedient child that is a slave to everything you say - that child will grow up to be a slave to someone else and blindly obedient to all the rules society doles out. This book is for parents who want children to always be free, think freely and grow spiritually, not just physically.

The moment I picked up this book, it SPOKE TO MY HEART. I actually cried reading this book in several chapters and really felt as though she was in the room talking to ME. Addressing the many reasons why I react the way I do to my child and what I can do about it.

THIS IS A BOOK THAT CHANGES THE PARENT. And not just changes you, but alters your perceptions so that you can understand why you are reacting the way you are to your kids. Why one parent reacts one way while another reacts a completely different way. It helps you let go of fears of being too passive so you can actually ENJOY your child and their development. Many of their behaviors are completely developmentally appropriate and most parents take them very personally as a personal attack (myself included) when really the behavior has nothing to do with you.

I am looking for this book in audio CD for my husband. It is absolutely wonderful for Dads as well as Moms.

The Profound Legacy of the Late David Flynn

I had never heard of this Christian genius until one of my favorite authors and Bible teachers, Dr. Thomas Horn highly recommended his monumental work that he was privileged to publish subsequent to David Flynn's untimely death. On Dr. Horn's website he has made this compilation available... and to my astonished awe I can only say that my world has changed due to the clear and comprehensive revelation into ancient and deep mysteries that the Holy Spirit of GOD had given to this humble servant of the Most High.

The 515 page volume is written in a highly readable yet quite challenging manner, with each of the 37 total chapters in both books footnoted at the end of each chapter with reference resources listed. There are extensive photos, diagrams, maps, historical artwork, and even formulas that demonstrate the depth of his brilliant scholarship and profound insight.

He is in the Presence of ABBA Father, who clearly welcomed him -at such a young age with "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your LORD."

I have done a more thorough review of both books- Temple at the Center of Time, & Cydonia: The Secret Chronicles of Mars on my personal Weblog at zionsgate (wordpress) with images, video links, and worship music. As deep as this volume is, I have already felt compelled to start at the beginning again, and more carefully dig into this present truth teaching with focus on the comprehensive footnote sources. You will share in the exhilaration of discovery and be humbled in the greater Scriptural illumination it provides as you prayerfully study this incredible legacy of our dear brother in Christ, David Flynn.

All Christians should read this!

I ordered the hard copy of this collection online, but not wanting to wait on shipping I also purchased the Kindle edition (Thanks Amazon). At first I found Mr.Flynn's writings a bit hard to understand. This work shows how remarkable his thinking abilities are. But after skipping through a few chapters in the first book of this collection and eventually all-the-way through to the second book (Cydonia: the Secret Chronicles of Mars) I began to get a better understanding of how he writes and his skills on interpretation. If you find yourself a little perplexed with all the very extended detailed sources he quotes in the beginning of his books, I'd suggest skipping to the last few chapters and then backing up and re-reading from the start. This helped me to stay on track and get a better understanding of his knowledge. His books are not a hard read, don't get me wrong. I'm not a college grad nor someone with a remarkable IQ so I do sometimes struggle with complicated writings especially on ancient pagan gods and Roman/Greek/Babylonian paganism. There are so many mythological beings written about in history it's easy (for me) to get them mixed up and become confused as to whom is who or what). Once I skipped through to the last few chapters and got a better understanding as to what all this research was leading to then the whole book became clear. Mr.Flynn surely has a gift of understanding. He sees and depicts things from ancient writings and glyph's that no one to my knowledge could match. Over the past few years I've spent hundreds of dollars on books, manuscripts, DVD's and many other resources trying to acquire a better understanding of all these supernatural and esoteric events and doctrines. I've long since had an overwhelming interest in aliens/grays, and what is really going on in the secret societies. After all, why so much hard work on their part seeing that I/we (Christians) know they loose! I've always figured if they were intelligent enough to be illuminated then surly they'd be smart enough to read and comprehend the Holy Bible and thus see that Satan and his followers loose badly. But the "strong delusion" quoted from the Holy Writ also comes to mind. PRAISE be to GOD ALMIGHTY for HIS Ways are so much Higher! I'm not finished reading the first book in this collection so I won't comment on it yet but I still highly recommend both books to anyone who would like to know more about such things and I truly doubt you will find it anywhere else that is so well researched and illustrated. I only wished I'd found these years ago I could have saved a lot of money and in some cases what I feel was wasted time. I know I will be reading and studying both books repeatedly. I would also recommend watching the lectures he made concerning the information in his books. As an end-note I would like to mention how heart felt I am to his family and loved ones at his passing this year. And a very big thank you to those who compiled the collection and posted it for sale. I doubt, without this effort,I would have ever come to know these outstanding works and how beneficial to the public they truly are.

Great read! I ordered both Kindle and paperback

This is a great read. Intellectually stimulating - and it appears to be well researched. If this is food for thought, your brain may put on some weight. Both books in THE DAVID FLYNN COLLECTION (TEMPLE AT THE CENTER OF TIME, and CYDONIA: THE SECRET CHRONICLES OF MARS) potentially fill in a lot of what the Bible leaves out. Revealing concerning the mystery schools...

I have wanted to read CYDONIA: TSCOM for some time, but couldn't justify $75 for a 260 page book. It's unfortunate that it apparently took David Flynn's death for it to become affordable ($9.95 for Kindle). But David is OK with that as he is with the Lord now. Read the Kindle version on a 15.6" portable PC. I have not been satisfied with the Kindle software for PC. I am not always hooked up to Internet - Amazon Kindle led me to believe they were retaining corrections (for another book not David's). They lost about 40 of them - that was the end of that dance. I eventually ordered this book in paperback; it is excellent.

In the Mood for WKW

Must own. Very large/heavy book full of gorgeous photos that sometimes spread across both pages. The back of the book explains what every photo is, which keeps the photos the focus instead of having captions everywhere.

But this isn't what I'd call a coffee table book/photobook. It isn't something I'd let guests pick up and flip through. I'd have to trust they wouldn't ruin it.

The 'essays' by Powers are well-written and fun to read. The conversations/interviews with Wong Kar Wai are better and worth reading multiple times.

You should own this if you love Wong Kar Wai. Would make a great gift.

A contemporary Hitchcock / Truffaut.

This book would've provided much insight to my final assignment on WKW in Asian Cinema. Alas that was 10 years ago.
John Powers interviewed WKW like Truffaut did Hitchcock, and you do learn a lot more behind-the-scene stories of how WKW, his then cinematographer Christopher Doyle, art director William Chang, survived the glory yet commercialised HK cinema. He also explained how the look of all his movies came to be.
(My favourite anecdote will always be how Tony Leung was 'mislead' into a gay love making scene, and regretting not going 'all in' years later.)
Definitely a revelation to how Wong Kar Wai became WKW.
This is a text heavy book and not as picturesque as I imagined. It starts with Powers' own summary of the book, which spanned perhaps 30% of the book before getting into the actual interviews.
Hence my slight annoyance when content repeats itself.

If you like verse...

The Tale of the Heike is a 12th Century Epic about the feud between two warrior clans the Taira (Heike) and the Minamoto (Genji) vying for dominace in a society where the Emperor was greatly weakened and controlled by his court. The Epic has been likened by some to be Japan's Iliad and contains many stirring battle scenes and many of the protagonists have become well known folk heroes in Japan and the tale like that of Miyamoto Musashi has spawned countless novels, TV, film and manga adaptations.

However, the original, like the Iliad was probably meant to be performed episodically over a long period and is long and involved with a cast of hundreds, where periods of tedium are punctuated by interesting battle scenes and intrigue. I had originally purchased a copy of the translation by Helen Craig McCullough in the 1990s but found it rather academic and tedious and lost track of the key protagonists with similar names about 40-50 pages into the book and gave up.

I had recently the good fortune to read Eiji Yoshikawa's historical novel - The Heike Story translated by Fuki Wookenaka Uramatsu. Picking up Yoshikawa's version was like the Rosetta stone, in that it was translated into clean and easily understood English, and being in novel format kept me in suspense. The novel revolves around the life of Kiyomori the Heike warrior from his rise from penury to the pinacle of power. Yoshikawa's descriptions and atmosphere bring many of the key actors and the glittering Heian period to life. Although the translation is somewhat abridged from the original, with subplots and paragraphs that were deemed only intersting to the Japanese excised outright, it still serves as a cracking good read and a way to familiarize oneself with the background and framework of the story.

Having just finished that book, it was quite by chance that I discovered that Royall Tyler had put out a new translation that had extensive reviews (even the New York Times had one) and I was quite keen to read the whole story as the English version of Yoshikawa's novel only covers 2/3 of the story as serialization was still ongoing when it was translated in 1956.

Professor Tyler has attempted to hew as closely and accurately to the original as possible and has made the impressive decision of translating the text into rhythmic lines which is sure to have its share of admirers and detractors. Unfortunately, however, Professor Tyler is no Robert Fitzgerald or Robert Fagles (Iliad) or Seamus Heany (Beowulf) and my own personal opinion is that often the verse slides into the banal and the overall pathos and Buddhist feeling of impermance is lost. I have to say that I did, however, throughly enjoy his translation of the Tale of Genji, which is not in verse.

Comparing the justly famous opening lines:

the color of the sala flowers reveals the truth that the prosperous must decline.

The proud do not endure, they are like a dream on a spring night;

the mighty fall at last, they are as dust before the wind.

Royall Tyler:

declare the Great Man's certain fall.

Fuki Wooyenaka Uramatsu: (my personal favourite)

The temple bell echoes the impermanence of all things.

The colors of the flowers testify to the truth that those who flourish must decay.

Pride lasts but a little while, like a dream on a spring night.

Before long the mighty are cast down, and they are as dust before the wind.

Uramatsu only translated the opening lines in his short essay on the historical background of the novel. But I liked his somewhat old fashioned turns of phrase such as the "mighty are cast down" versus "the bold and brave perish in the end" (the three words "in the end" are to me a redundancy) and sometimes the Tyler version has too much information - as in the "Jevatana bells" versus simply "the temple bells". Don't get me wrong I am throughly enjoying his version, as I labor my way through it, but a general reader may be better served by a freer translation (perhaps in the lines of Waley's translation of Genji). So my recommendation is to do as I did - read Yoshikawa first or watch Mizoguchi's movies on the Heike, then you will get a lot more out of this translation.

The 11th Century aged really well.

It is exactly what I want from an early Japanese War Epic. I read somewhere a review likening this translation of the tale to read like "The Illiad, filtered through Kurosawa". So far it has been exactly that. Quirky and humorous, reflective and meditative, saddening, informative, and thrilling by turns, it tells the story of the downfall of the Taira clan, also pronounced and spelled Heike ("Hey-keh"), after the corrupt tyrant clan leader Taira Kiyomori flaunts his high station and imperial favor over all the land; eventually overthrowing the rightful emperor, with a sentence to exile; places family members in all the key imperial government offices to virtually control all Japan; and kills or exiles those who righteously stand in his way, including the rightful heirs to the Emperors throne.
The once mighty Minamoto clan, also called the Genji, have all but been wiped out due to rivalry against the Heike ( years prior to this tale, as thoroughly explained in a very informative preface), but the remaining members have now come to adulthood and are ready again to confront the Heike.
Filled with vastly interesting characters, stories within stories revealing semi-historical or legendary personages and occurrences of importance relative to the overall tale (or merely anecdotes adding to the atmosphere), and heroic battle scenes depicting early samurai and warrior-monks in very compelling engagements, the translation is very accessible and well-done, complete with illuminating footnotes, appendixes, clan genealogies, maps, and (very compelling) is thoroughly illustrated throughout with great (albeit black and white) ukiyo-e style artwork from the Heike Monogatari Zue.
I've heard this tale is very rewarding and will stay with the reader long after its completion.
I can't imagine it will be otherwise for anyone who treats themselves to this book, myself included.

A remarkable tale

This classic of world literature is an epic tale of human greed, fear and folly as portrayed through the decisions and mistakes of the two leading clans in Heian-era Japan. I found the book quite engrossing and very sad. It is an excellent counterpart to the Tale of Genji, which seems to take place in a different world entirely -- though the refined world of Genji is entirely intertwined with, and supported by, the brutal world in which the Tale of the Heike subsists. Reading along through self-inflicted catastrophe after self-inflicted catastrophe, one gets the strong impression that very little about human beings has changed during the 800 or so years since the events portrayed here took place. Fortunately, we no longer read stories about rulers ordering children to be rounded up and slaughtered or about brothers plotting to assassinate one another but, absent those extreme situations, The Tale of the Heike seems to be surprisingly contemporary.

I cannot comment on the quality of the translation as I neither speak Japanese nor have read any other version of this work. Even so, I found Royall Tyler's version of this work entirely satisfying, though I did skip some small portions where the book gets bogged down in long lists of the names of various warriors preparing to go into battle.

Whether you are interested in the unsightly truth about human behavior, crave an intimate and yet epic view of Japanese history, or want to expand your knowledge of the greatest world literature, this book is a must read.
