Here, even more clearly perhaps than in his slightly later and much larger paraphrastic commentary On Animals [De animalibus], Albert adduces his own views―often criticizing other medieval physicians and natural philosophers―on comparative anatomy, human physiology, sexuality, procreation, and embryology. This translation, based on the critical edition that appeared in the Cologne edition of Albert's work, helps to explain the title "patron saint of scientists" bestowed upon Albert by Pope Pius XII.

This work should find its audience among medievalists and historians of science and culture. More so than the massive On Animals, it should prove useful in the classroom as an encyclopedia or handbook of medieval life.

A title such as Don Juan and the Art of Sexual Energy can be misleading. Those expecting a smooth manual that reads like a Joy to Toltec Sex will be sorely disappointed. On the other hand, those hoping for an ambitious discussion of the shape shifting, trances, energy scanning, and archetypal imagery that characterize Toltec sexuality will be deeply gratified. Like the famous writer Carlos Castaneda, who introduced Toltec teachings to the greater world, Merilyn Tunneshende often shifts into dream-like narratives. For example, in a passage where she discusses the sensual power of nature, Tunneshende recounts a trance under the guidance of her shaman and teacher. Lying beneath a mesquite tree, she has a vision that she is "moving through the interior of the plant, much like a whole egg moves through the body of a snake when swallowed." When she arrived at the base of the plant, "a trumpeting white flower sprouted from my head and my ovaries turned in on themselves...." A valuable tool and enjoyable reading

As a longtime student of Carlos Castaneda's books, I will always be grateful to him for introducing me to the possibilities of a different perception. However, Merilyn's book fills in many of the gaps missing from Carlos' teachings. I had a profound near death experience before ever hearing about Castaneda, an explanation for which I have been seeking for years for in his books, and failed to find. Merilyn was able to address it. The writing may appear deceptively simple, but in her preface, she states that it is written for "big children", as we are children when it comes to the potential of our sexual energy. I found this book to be fulfilling and thoroughly worthwhile reading. My deepest thanks to you, Merilyn.

Review: of Don Juan and the Art of Sexual Energy

Merilyn Tunneshende brought to light the key that opens the door to all of Don Juan's teachings. After decades of reading Carlos Castenda and wondering how to access lucid dreaming as Don Juan and his students did, Ms. Tunneshhende brings a clear step-by-step guide for accessing the the higher realms and being able to bring back that information into the conscious 3rd dimensional state. It is very common sense information and makes it easy to access and use the information we are provided all the time from the higher realms. Her book also explains "sexual energy", which is really prana or life force in other terms. Sexual energy is powerful and once activated, it can unleash the whole soul of the individual that has long been cloaked in the baggage of of many lifetimes of karmic correction. The book is also very well written, interesting, provides an understanding and of relationshups of the the shamans and their wonderfully exciting world and offers a clear guide to activating one's sexual energy.

Extremely Valuable Collection of Spiritual Practices

This excellent book weaves together a description of basic Mesoamerican spiritual practices with the highlights of MT's training. The story also gives pointers to women on why and how not to become prey to the sexual desires of male gurus--a topic too long ignored.
Although we are no longer associated, I worked with her in the past and I promise you that whether or not you believe her teacher's were Don Juan and Don Genaro from the Castenada books (I personally believe she is Carol Tiggs from his books), MT is definitely a trained sorceress in that tradition. Although she can pin you to the wall with vicious rantings, she gave me the most valuable practice I have ever received from my 25 years experience in multiple mystical traditions. I can't express how thankful I am for receiving the gift of the method to create "the pearl" from MT. This high level women's practice "worked" for me in about two weeks of practice and I continue to carry the precious beauty of that energy which has opened the door to a much more magical world for me.
MT once gave me the task of finding her and Dona Celestina Soledad in Yuma. After a cursory look around, I decided I would rather not risk being eaten alive and left. Perhaps she did not forgive me for that. But if you have been meditating for years with no noticeable effect and you want practices that work, try these...

A menagerie of all but puppies

It is an honor for me to write this review I am so captivated by the story and its completely new direction for such stories. The title of course is "The Training Farm: A Journey into Submission". But the title gives no hint that a menagerie of all but puppies was in the works. I do miss the puppies.

It is clear a lot of effort was put into this story that so much is so, so, so good!

I continue to be in awe of this wonderful story and need to take notes as I read. They may be too long for an Amazon review so the hope is to be able to pass them directly to you if you provide the means. It has been a long time since I have read a story of any kind that keeps getting better and better like this does. Please, please write more soon. It is a tale worth telling more of.

I am captivated by the beauty of the name "Amity" and the peace and friendship it makes me imagine.

The amount of thought and perhaps trial and error experimentation that you must practice to get your scenes so right is a wonder. I have never heard of branding a pet on its perineum but it does make sense. To have the the female trainees direct an animal, a male of course, to grasp its own ball sac with its paw to prove its branded number is inspired. To draw out the scene by including another trainee adds to the enjoyment as I imagine the animal's feelings of embarrassment.

The training for a large group as a herd concept and relating the pleasure each young lady takes in the process of turning the males into the animals they are meant to be is unique in my reading experience. You give a very real acknowledgement to simple psychological and biological facts that can only benefit the readers.

I am also very pleased for you that this wonderful story is so publicly and readily available on Amazon. It is a true pleasure to read and imagine over and over the visions you conjure.

The power implicit in bringing even the female trainees to a peak of perfection, that they each want and then need is remarkable. So is the fact of the story that even the graduates trainers are held subject to the high standards of the OWNER. And all captured on film for future training and entertainment.

"Discipline just one and all the animals will learn". Another italicized lesson that are regularly included bits of tried and tested wisdom from experienced trainers.

I wish I could find a way to contact Ms. Harris and commend her more in an email. There is so much more to say but I can find no address on this or the other sites.

At last, a detailed slave experance book

At last a really good slave/sissy book
Amity Harris (Author) wrote 386 pages of fully detailed experiences of the helpless slaves who signed up to work the "farm"
If you like reading this type of femdom experiences you should like this one. Almost nonstop feelings.
You get the pleasure of being one of the female guards seeing their charges being helplessly positioned for the procedures.
The reader is also placed in the clients (slave) mindset of what is happing to his naked body.

I was getting tired of the same old spanking or using the rod on the poor male buttocks a number of times and sent to the corner without any description of the persons thoughts during or after. Followed with endless non sexual content for the next forty pages of how big the English Mistress mansion is.

Very powerful and telling! A story done for strong women's' desires not for the men's'. The men have no power what so ever! A true Amazon colony and hierarchy except for all the leather....and the dinner at the seasons' end! The coup de gras where the women ate heartily...What made it even better was that it was written by a strong woman herself.

To prepare students to be able to READ in Spanish !

Spanish for Reading and Translation by Annette Cash and James Murray is said to be designed for graduate students who need to demonstrate a reading knowledge of Spanish as a requirement for a graduate degree; it presents concepts for RECOGNITION only, followed by AMPLE activities and reading .

The organization of the 12 chapters is as follows :

* a reading passage preceded by pre-reading activities focused on skimming and scanning, followed by post-reading activities

* vocabulary building information and exercises

* grammar rules and exercises

* a final reading passage, preceded by pre-reading activities to engage the student in the skills of skimming and scanning, then post-reading activities focused on translation and content

There are No exercises to PRODUCE grammatical structures , the exercises are there to RECOGNIZE the grammatical structures.

The readings increase in difficulty throughout chapters.

A preliminary chapter focuses on pronunciation , reading strategies, cognates, and use of the dictionary.

The text includes three built-in review chapters after 1-4, 5-8, and 9-12.

A very detailed index is provided, together with ( in my opinion a real TREASURE ) an appendix on reading and translation resources : dictionaries,newspapers, magazines, and journals.

A total of 174 pages , rather dense, and I would suggest you take the time(30 days) to go through and not rush.

All that said, in about one month of regular daily study, you will achieve the results promised. I know I did TREMENDOUSLY improve my Spanish reading of academic texts.

I have completed about 60% of the book and here is a sample of what I am able to read : " Las mujeres de esa ciudad (Chiapas) se quejan constantemente de una flaqueza de estomago tan grande, que no podrian acabar de oir una misa rezada y mucho menos la misa mayor y el sermon sin tomar una jicara de chocolate bien caliente y alguna tacilla de conserva o almibar para fortalecerse. "

Two missing features of this book : answers are not given for the exercises though it should be easy to get them on your own if you really study the text; the second feature not related to the text is the high price for the book; it should have been retailed around 20 dollars to increase its sales .

But you will get the results promised and that is why I granted 4 stars.

Good for graduate students

This is a very good book for graduate students who need to pass a reading test in Spanish as part of their graduate degree requirements. The book focuses on grammar and vocabulary recognition standpoint; no attention is given to producing language.

The reading passages are authentic texts and have glosses for challenging words and phrase. The book does a good job using prereading exercises to activate schemata, then having the reader skim, summarize, and draw conclusions about the reading. There are also postreading exercises to check comprehension.

One significant complaint I have about the book is that answer keys are not provided for any of the exercises, making it difficult if you want to work on your own.

very clear and easy to use. I learned a lot about grammar from using this book and was able to pass my language requirement for graduate school. I wish that the editor provided definitions for the key words, even if only in a foot note. I had to always have a dictionary at hand.

About the Author
Wayne L. Winston is Professor Emeritus of Decision Sciences at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and is now a Professor of Decision and Information Sciences at the Bauer College at the University of Houston. He has won more than 45 teaching awards, including the school-wide MBA award six times. His current interest is in showing how spreadsheet models can be used to solve business problems in all disciplines, particularly in finance, sports, and marketing. In addition to publishing more than 20 articles in leading journals, Dr. Winston has written such successful textbooks as OPERATIONS RESEARCH: APPLICATIONS AND ALGORITHMS, MATHEMATICAL PROGRAMMING: APPLICATIONS AND ALGORITHMS, SIMULATION MODELING WITH @RISK, DATA ANALYSIS FOR MANAGERS, SPREADSHEET MODELING AND APPLICATIONS, MATHLETICS, DATA ANALYSIS AND BUSINESS MODELING WITH EXCEL 2013, MARKETING ANALYTICS, and FINANCIAL MODELS USING SIMULATION AND OPTIMIZATION. He received his B.S. degree in mathematics from MIT and his Ph.D. in operations research from Yale.

No practical use for the book

Here's my main gripe with this book: NO DECENT EXAMPLES. For a book that deals with a lot of complicated processes, it's not helpful for understanding the material. In a chapter, you may have three basic examples in the first two sections, and in subsequent sections, the examples just piggyback off of them and don't even show the process of how they got to the answer. There are a lot of problems after each section, which is good for practice, but useless if you don't have a clear understanding of how to work with them. The notation for some examples also take time to comprehend (ie. they showcase a general case).

I'd recommend it mostly as a reference, maybe to get a few practice exercises, but no more. If you're in a course (graduate or not), Google is your friend.

Standard Text - Riddled with Flaws

I'm guessing you're on this page because this is your textbook. It works reasonably well for a text, but there are many, many errors. One important problem you should check IMMEDIATELY when you get your copy: some versions double printed pages 705-736 and did not print 737 to 768. These would be the first sections of chapter 13 -- Decision Making under Uncertainty. It is pretty important for the stochastic course, but not so important for the deterministic course (the first part of the book). There are websites that have errata, but even the errata sheets I've found are incomplete. Hopefully your prof should be aware of the flaws. I would NOT recommend this book if you have a coice in the matter. Many of the errors are very confusing to new students.

This is an excellent introduction to the field of Operations Research.
I had the benefit of an exceptional instructor too, but he used this text to full advantage. Definitely recommend it as a support for a college level class.
